Pinapurihan ni House Speaker Martin Romualdez ang hakbang ni DSWD Sec. Erwin Tulfo upang pabilisin at padaliin ang proseso ng pagpapa-abot ng tulong pinansyal sa mga indigent na Pilipino.
Kasunod ito ng naging courtesy call ng kalihim sa lider ng Kamara nitong Martes.
Ayon kay Romualdez, ang “responsible” governance ni Tulfo ay nagpapakita lamang na hindi mapipigilan ng burukrasya ang isang lider na desididong ayusin at gawing episyente ang government processes.
Dagdag pa ng Leyte solon na mahalaga ang maagap na pagpapaabot ng tulong sa mga nangangailangan lalo na kung ito ay usaping medikal.
Kung matatandaan agad na ipinag-utos ni Sec. Tulfo na paikliin ang dati’y limang araw na proseso ng pagbibigay financial aid nang isang araw na lang.
Kabilang sa tulong na ito ang medical, burial/funeral, transportation, educational, food, at iba pa.
“I commend Sec. Tulfo for this remarkable feat of responsible governance. His efforts only prove that no amount of barriers in the bureaucracy can stop the will of a strong leadership seeking efficiency in government processes. This is especially important for services such as medical aid, where the element of time is of utmost importance. Sec. Tulfo recognizes this and has implemented measures to ensure that indigents receive the aid at a time they need it most,” the Speaker added.
