Ako’y nakikiisa sa buong lalawigan ng Leyte at sa mga mamamayan ng Silangang Visayas sa buong pusong pagbati kay Chrisia Mae Tajarros sa pagkamit ng kauna-unahang gintong medalya sa 2025 Palarong Pambansa.
Sa edad na 13 taong gulang, pinatunayan ni Chrisia Mae ang puso ng isang tunay na kampeon. Ang kanyang tagumpay sa 3,000-meter run ay kwento ng pagbawi, tiyaga, at hindi matinag na determinasyon. Mula sa ikalawang pwesto noong nakaraang taon, bumalik siya ngayong mas malakas—mas matalino, mas mabilis, at mas nakatutok.
Bilang mag-aaral ng Tanauan National High School at atleta ng Leyte Sports Academy, si Chrisia Mae ay sumasalamin sa pangako ng ating kabataan at sa potensyal ng pagpapalakas ng sports sa grassroots. Ang kanyang tagumpay ay patunay na maraming kayang maabot kapag ininvest natin ang ating oras at suporta sa mga batang atleta.
Ipinagdiriwang natin siya bilang ipinagmamalaki ng Leyte at ng buong bansa. Ang kanyang tagumpay ay hindi lamang nasusukat sa mga medalya—ito’y tanda ng tapang, disiplina, at kapangyarihan ng hindi pagsuko.
